Teddy bear program

The teddy bear program attempts to reduce psychological trauma experienced by young children when they are involved in incidents/accidents that occur on Wisconsin highways. Many children have been comforted by receiving teddy bears from State Patrol officers during these very distressful times.

The mission of the Wisconsin State Patrol is "to promote highway and public safety and to enhance the quality of life for all Wisconsin citizens and visitors by providing and supporting professional, competent, and compassionate law enforcement services." The teddy bear program allows inspectors and troopers to demonstrate that they are supportive and proactive in their words and actions.
