WIS 35 (Tower Avenue) Reconstruction Project - Traffic impacts

A detour route for truck and through traffic will be utilized to reduce congestion and increase work zone safety during construction.

Due to the work on the deep sanitary line and needing to have as much time as feasible for the contractor to complete all the roadway, streetscape and utility replacements, it is not feasible to leave Tower Avenue open to traffic. Crossing side streets will be open whenever feasible (and safe) for local business traffic to utilize back streets and alleys.

Work zone safety tips

• Expect the unexpected.
• Stay alert.
• Watch for flagging operations.
• Merge as soon as possible.
• Don't speed. Remember, fines double in work zones.
• Don't tailgate.
• Keep a safe distance.
• Observe posted signs.
• Be patient.
