US 2/WIS 13 Intersection improvement - history

Project benchmarks:

• 1974 – The existing WIS 13 intersection was built as a modified type A intersection.
• 1978 - Two lights and an overhead sign for eastbound US 2 were added.
• 1991-1992 – US 2 was converted to a divided highway through the intersection. The existing lanes are now the eastbound 2 roadway.
• 2003 – The current configuration was created with the single through lane on westbound US 2.
• 2006 – The final modification adding rumble strips and LED’s.
• 2008 - Planning and design began and the project was enumerated by the legsislature.
