Public meeting scheduled for US 12 in Dane, Jefferson counties

Meeting to focus on safety and access recommendations
A public involvement meeting to discuss the US 12 corridor in Dane and Jefferson counties will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at the Cambridge Elementary School, 802 Water Street, Cambridge. A presentation will be given at 6:30 p.m.
WisDOT is conducting a safety and operational study of US 12 from County N in Dane County to WIS 26 in Jefferson County. The study examines the environmental, social, and transportation conditions along US 12, and makes an operational and safety analyses to guide the development of strategies and recommendations to improve the corridor. Strategies have been developed with the goal of preserving the functional life of the existing two-lane highway for as long as possible. An access management plan and several intersection improvement recommendations have been created to address current and long-term safety and operational issues.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this study. Maps showing access and improvement recommendations along the US 12 study corridor will be displayed. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the study on an individual basis.
