Meeting to discuss proposed improvements of WIS 116
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss the proposed improvement of one mile of WIS 116 (East River Drive and Willow Street) from Spruce Street to the northern city limits of Omro in Winnebago County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19 at the Omro Community Center, 130 W. Larrabee Street. A short presentation is planned for 5:15 p.m.
The meeting will follow an informal open house format and the public can attend at their convenience. The proposed improvement project on WIS 116 consists of an urban reconstruction from Spruce Street to Pine Street, and resurfacing from Pine Street to the northern city limits of Omro. WIS 116 will be closed to traffic during construction and a detour route will be established. The project is scheduled for construction in 2018.
The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the preliminary design, proposed alternatives, project schedule and obtain their input. Included in the project are improvements to intersections, sidewalk and pedestrian crossings, side streets, and utilities. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display and WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Persons interested in the project but unable to attend the meeting, or who would like more information, should contact Project Manager Bill Bertrand at (920) 492-5708. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Bill Bertrand, WisDOT–NE Region, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
