Puchyan River Bridge replacement begins this week in Green Lake County

May 14, 2013

Crews plan to close the Puchyan River Bridge, in the town of Brooklyn, between Green Lake County A and County PP on Wednesday, May 15.

Lunda Construction of Black River Falls is the prime contractor for the $682,000 bridge replacement project.

The existing bridge, which was constructed in 1926, has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement. Improvements also include replacing about 25 feet of retaining walls along the channel between the bridge and the Lower Green Lake dam. Crews will also reconstruct about 200 feet of the Lawson Drive roadway on either side of the bridge.

During construction Lawson Drive will be closed to through traffic. Access will be maintained up to the bridge location. No detour will be posted.

Construction is currently scheduled for completion by September 2013.

One hundred percent of the project will be paid for with state transportation funds.
