McCleary Bridge closure scheduled Thursday night June 26

June 25, 2008

Crews planning deck pour on Friday

Crews plan to close the McCleary Bridge on Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. The closure is necessary so crews can prepare for the planned deck pour, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 27.

The bridge will remain closed while the concrete cures. It is scheduled to reopen to one lane of traffic in each direction before the end of the day Wednesday, July 2.

“Deck pours are very dependent on favorable weather conditions,” explained Matt Bronson, project development supervisor. “If crews are unable to complete the deck pour on Friday, the bridge closure will be rescheduled to take place during the week of July 7.”

Bronson added that every effort is being made to keep the project on schedule for completion in mid-July and to minimize impacts to local businesses and motorists.

The bridge is currently open to one lane of traffic in each direction. The speed limit is reduced to 25 mph and each lane is restricted to 10 feet.
