Work on new Sturgeon Bay bridge closing ship channel again

June 16, 2008

Short closures are helping expedite construction schedule

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) NE Regional Office at Green Bay is announcing both spans of the new Maple-to-Oregon bridge in Sturgeon Bay will be closed and will affect the ship channel. This will close the ship channel to vessels requiring a bridge opening at the new bridge location. The bridge will be closed Monday, June 16 at approximately 7 a.m. and re-open Tuesday, June 17 at approximately 8 p.m.

One span will remain open at other than those times listed. WisDOT urges all mariners to traverse the construction area with extreme caution.
