Public meeting scheduled June 3 for US 141 in Marinette County

Meeting to focus on preliminary designs, improving safety and traffic flow
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Regional Office in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting regarding the resurfacing and reconstruction of US 141 from US 8 east to the Menominee River bridge in Marinette County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Niagara City Hall, 1029 Roosevelt Road, Niagara.
Plans call for resurfacing US 141 from US 8 east to the south Niagara city limits and reconstructing US 141 from the south Niagara city limits to the Menominee River bridge. The Michigan Department of Transportation will be reconstructing the Menominee River bridge in conjunction with the WisDOT project. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2010.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
