State temporarily suspends license of local auto dealer
May 22, 2008
The motor vehicle dealer license of a Madison area dealership has been suspended by the state of
Wisconsin for 14 calendar days. An investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's
Division of Motor Vehicles' Dealer and Agent Section found Wayne's Auto World, 2776 Syene Rd., in
violation of a number of state laws.
Wayne's Auto World acknowledged that it allowed persons to use their own funds to buy and
sell motor vehicles using the dealership's motor vehicle dealer license, and that it failed to
properly disclose the condition and equipment of vehicles sold by the dealership.
Wisconsin Administrative Law Judge David Schwarz, administrator of the state Department of
Administration's Division of Hearings and Appeals, found that these violations warranted the
suspension of the motor vehicle dealer license of Wayne's Auto World. The suspension is effective
May 5 through May 18, 2008.
While suspended, the dealership cannot engage in any activity that requires a motor vehicle
dealer license. Any future violations could result in the loss of the dealership's motor vehicle
dealer license. Wayne's Auto World agrees to allow agents or employees of the WisDOT to inspect all
business records necessary to verify compliance with the Order Suspending License.
