Origin-Destination Study planned for WIS 96 in Brown County
May 22, 2008
Study scheduled for later this month
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) region office at Green Bay is alerting motorists in the Wrightstown Area of Brown County that they may be stopped briefly by department representatives conducting a survey aimed at determining traffic patterns on WIS 96. The survey is called an Origin-Destination Study and will be conducted near the end of this month.
“Drivers will be stopped and provided the survey that they can mail back to us at their convenience and a brief explanation about it. We will be collecting data including the origin and destination of their trip, purpose of their trip, number of people in their vehicle, and vehicle type,” explained Colleen Harris, Planning and Programming Supervisor at WisDOT’s Green Bay office.
This data is then incorporated into a variety of planning activities involving transportation by a variety of state and local organizations. Survey dates, times and locations are not announced in advance.
“The survey is voluntary,” Harris said. “Staff will keep traffic moving and the encounter should take less than the time spent at a traffic signal.”
“We want to thank everyone in advance for their cooperation,” she added.
