Emergency repair work on US 2 in Bayfield County to begin Monday, May 12
May 12, 2008
Lane restrictions planned
The recent snowmelt and heavy rains have forced a portion of the shoulder on US 2 to break off and slide down an embankment. The slip of the shoulder occurred approximately two miles east of Ino and three miles west of US 63.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will begin repairing that section of highway on Monday, May 12. Travel will be restricted to one lane during the construction period. Motorists will be directed through the work zone by temporary traffic signals. The speed limit through the construction area will be reduced to 35 miles per hour.
Repairs will take approximately one month to complete.
