Surface Transportation Program - Urban
The Surface Transportation Program - Urban (STP-U) allocates federal funds to complete a variety of improvements to federal-aid-eligible roads and streets in urban areas.
The objective of STP-U is to improve federal aid eligible highways within urban areas. Projects must meet federal and state requirements. Communities are eligible for funding on roads functionally classified as major collector or higher.
As of March 6, 2015, WisDOT is accepting STP-U applications for the 2015-2020 Program Cycle. Applicants are required to review the application instructions and complete an application form for each eligible STP-U project:
- WisDOT 2015-2020 STP-Urban application instructions
- WisDOT 2015-2020 STP-Urban application form
- WisDOT 2015-2020 program cycle guidelines
As part of the application process, applicants are required to prioritize all proposed projects. An Example of How to Prioritize Projects is provided to assist applicants with the completion of the Project Priority section of the application form. The application deadline is July 31, 2015. Questions on the application process should be directed to the appropriate WisDOT regional contact person listed below.
