Motorcycle license plates

Antique motorcycle
	Available for 1945 or older model motorcycles that have not been altered or modified from  manufacturer’s original specifications. The motorcycle can only be used for special occasions such as display and parade purposes or for necessary testing, maintenance and storage purposes.

Collector motorcycle
	Issued for vehicles 20 years or older that have not been altered or modified from  manufacturer's specifications. Must have another Wisconsin registered vehicle used for regular transportation. Cannot be operated during the month of January without a temporary plate.

Dealer motorcycle
	All plates issued to each dealer bear the same number with consecutive alpha suffixes. Call WisDOT Dealer & Agent Section at (608) 266-1425 for inquiries.

Disabled motorcycle
	Available only to permanently disabled individuals. Two distinct plate styles are valid if currently registered.

Drivers education
	Issued to schools having a driver education program. Must have insurance filed with WisDOT.

Hobbyist motorcycle
	Issued for reconstructed or street modified motorcycles 20 years old or older, for replica motorcycles 20 years old or older, or for homemade motorcycles. Must have another vehicle currently registered. Cannot be operated during the month of January without a temporary plate.
